2006 TOURNAMENT RE-CAP

The Chi-Town Series would like to Thank the 80+ teams that competed this year! Congratulations to the Raiders for their wins in both D2 and D3!!!

The Chi-Town Series has been instrumental in bringing a cohesive structure for team success in the MidWest. Voltage started locally and won the series, then they reached out regionally and now they're winning nationally, in fact ranked #1 PSP D2 X-Ball.

Year after year the best teams in the Midwest make their way to the Chi-Town Series. Now that the Raiders have won D2 their players will have to move on and their D3 team will have to move up to D2. Will they go on to be the next Voltage? Will you come on board to be the next Raiders?

The 2007 Chi-Town Series is sure to have more prizes, more teams and the best competition in the Midwest!

Thank You to all the participants and Good Luck at the World Cup! Check back for more 2007 details, Coming Soon!

THE CHI-TOWN SERIES

ABOUT THE CHI-TOWN SERIES
In our continued effort to grow the sport of competitive paintball in the Midwest and specifically in the Chicago area, the Chitown Series is proud to announce the new Bring Your Own Paint Policy.

Additionally, not only will you receive prizes for the series, the winning teams at each event will take home thousands of dollars in cash and prizes.

Once again, the Chitown Series will be utilizing The Badlandz Paintball Field as the host for all of the events. The Badlandz is the only facility in the Chicagoland area capable of handling the amount of fields needed, air requirements, staging areas, and many other tournament necessities. As you are looking through the site please note that the 2006 prize package is increasing at a time when many other series are reducing !

CHI-TOWN SERIES - FORMAT INFORMATION

ENTRY FEE
The entry fee for 2007 The Chitown series is $300.00 per event, per team.

PRIZES
Prizes are given out for 1st thru 4th place in each division at each event. We reseve the right to substitute individual goods or offers with items equal or or greater value.

We always ask sponsors to have product on hand, but many prefer gift certificates. Either way you win.

In D2L we traditionally throw in some cash money and we are again, but we've got to raise the minimum amount of entrants to lock it in. Last year 1st had $500.00 cash and 2nd and 3rd each had$100.00 and it was locked once 6 teams entered.

Now it will lock in after 8 teams sign up. This should not be a problems since Voltage and Thunderstruck are not playing (they're reffing). It should open things up a bit, who knows, if you get that good we may get to kick you out next!

*Please note that all prize packages have increased over last year's and we expect them to increase again shortly, so keep watching.

FIELD LAYOUTS
We will be posting the field layouts as soon as possible. Please check back for updates.

CLASSIFICATIONS
As in year's past we have chosen to break down the series into D2L and D3L divisions. This is done in an effort to help teams progress and allow growth without fear of being over classified.

D3L is a novice class, while D2L is an amature class. We threw the "L" on the end to stand for "Local" so teams stepping up to the more competitive D2L Division would not be over classified and be forced into playing D2 at any national event. As teams get too dominent and become true national touring participants we ask them to step aside and ref. or stay home and rake leaves.

If it gets outta' hand we can bust out the lap top, force everyone to get I.D.'s and crack down, but for the most part it seems to be working. If this poses significant problems please let us know, we will adjust where we can.

Many local teams should enter D3 when the PSP Chicago Open rolls around. It's a great experience. If the do they would be better prepared for the competition if they play D2L at the Chi-Town Series.

All of this may seem a little conviluded but it works well. As always we'll listen to your concerns please just relay them in proper form.

WHAT TO EXPECT & WHO's WHO?
Some stiff competition, and a good time! The Badlandz is home to the best paintball players in the Midwest period. Many show up to the Chi-Town Series to let everyone know it!

Tournament Director - Ron Petrucci
Ron is in charge of the event. He makes no game call on or off the field. His job is to make sure the event begins on time and stays on time. He also makes sure that you have a good field and fair reffing.

Ultimate Ref - Aaron
The Ultimate Ref's job is to rove from field to field making sure all head ref's and game ref's are doing their jobs. He must also sort out any controversial calls on or off the field. You can usually find the Ultimate on the field for the big /decisive game, like all the finals and roving from field to field throughout the pre-lim's.

Head Ref's-
Every individual field has a head ref. The head ref's job is to start the game, make sure both teams play fair and to be the deciding factor on what punishment to dish out, if they choose not to. He generally organizes all the fields and ref's and assigns spots to best view the game.

Field Ref's-
This is the guy / girl that is the Traffic Cop. Make a mistake and they are there to stop you. Do something improper on purpose and they are there to catch you. The foot soldier. Dont' do it, play fair or you'll pay.
